Today I took some pictures where the Goleta Slough meets the Pacific Ocean. It was low tide and there were few birds.

We get the 1st three birds here in New Mexico, too, though I'm not sure if they winter here as well (it's too cold for me to walk the ~2 miles to Tingley Beach to check). Is the number of birds you saw normal for that area at this time of year?
ReplyDeleteThe number of birds seems fewer than what I remember for this time year, but it has been much wetter and cooler than usual so they maybe in a more protected part of the slough.
