2019 American Begonia Society - People's Choice Award

Here is a picture of Mike Flaherty and Dennis Wheeler with B. Randy MK2 grown by Dennis.  It was chosen by the members and public to receive the Peoples Choice Award.  Congratulations Dennis!

The Pine Tree has died but Lives on!

The large pine tree has died.  The tree trimmers removed the dead branches but left about 30 feet of the trunk so that Mike could plant it with ferns, bromeliads, orchids and begonias.

The tree trimmer used a bucket truck to access the tree and to cut it down piece by piece.

Begonia Beverly Jackson!

Last weekend was the Rudolph Ziesenhenne Branch meeting of the American Begonia Society.  Mike Flaherty and Paul Carlisle presented 'B. Beverly Jackson' to Beverly Jackson!  Mike Flaherty hybridized the tuberous begonia and Paul Carlisle has been growing it.  I love the color and the large blooms.
