Talk about a tight squeeze!

     I was taking pictures of this yellow Aloe arborescans 'Lutea', AKA Yellow Torch Aloe, when I noticed some bees flying around it.

The bees were just small enough to squeeze into the tubular shaped flowers to get to the pollen and nectar.

Two Bees, One Coming and The Other Going!

Venus Flytrap 'Mammoth' with a Bee trapped halfway, with it's head in.

    This Venus Flytrap 'Mammoth' has caught two bees. Although the traps are pretty good size, it only trapped half of a bee at a time. The first bee was trapped with it's head in the trap and about five weeks later the second bee was trapped with it's head out of the trap.

Bee in the Bloom!

 This trumpet vine has been growing and now blooming outside our kitchen window.  I’ve been watching bees go in and out the blooms.

 The weather has been really nice the last few days, and the bees are buzzing in and around the rosemary blooms.

 Pine trees produce large amounts of pollen, but I've learned that it is poor in protein for the bees.  The wisteria pollen is a better option, and more colorful!

The Happy Hum of Bees!

I was walking by some rosemary that was in bloom and heard the happy hum of bees!
