I've always been fascinated by Begonia bogneri, a species from Madagascar with many blade filiform leaves and bright pink and white flowers.  Ten months ago, I received this B. bogneri from a friend and at that time it had about 10-12 leaves with the longest leaf being 4 inches long.  It's been growing really well, and two months ago I put it into a larger 15" cube terrarium.  Now it's sending out lots of blooms!

Monkey Tail Cactus!

This Hildewintera Colademononis, (AKA Monkey Tail Cactus) is a recent addition to my collection and now it has two blooms!  It's origin can be traced back to the Bolivian countryside in Santa Cruz. It is most commonly found growing on or between steep rocks hanging above a jungle below.  I look forward to more bright blooms and additional tails growing from it's base.

Lotusland - Cactus Garden

Here are a few pictures that I took of the cactus Garden in Lotusland.  This garden was a gift to Lotusland from Merritt Dunlap, a longtime friend of Madame Ganna Walska.  It was transported to Lotusland beginning in 1999.

Lotusland - Bromeliad Garden

Here are a few pictures of Lotusland's Bromeliad Garden.

Lotusland - Cycad Garden

Here are a few pictures I took in the Cycad Garden on our recent visit to Lotusland.  Lotusland cares for many species of cycads that are threatened-including five species in the collection that are believed to be extinct in the wild.
