Island Fox

I was going through some old photos today and came across this picture that I took in 1992. It's an Island Fox on Santa Cruz Island, one of the Channel Islands in the Santa Barbara Channel.

A Belted Kingfisher is Fishing

At the Goleta Slough I saw this Belted Kingfisher hovering in place over the water.  Then it would dive into and emerge out of the water with a fish  in it's beak and fly over to the bank to eat it's catch.  It was fun to watch this behavior.

Variegated African Violet

My variegated African Violet is doing well.  This plant is 8 inches in diameter.  I'm growing it inside and under artificial light.

Goleta Slough

Today I took some pictures where the Goleta Slough meets the Pacific Ocean.  It was low tide and there were few birds.
