Nutmeg Mannikins

This morning there were a pair of Nutmeg Mannikins at the platform feeder. As they were eating they also kept an eye on the sky for any predators.

A Murder of Crows were making a lot of noise this morning in the Eucalyptus trees as there was a Red-tailed Hawk in the pine tree. The hawk was on the other side of the pine tree so I didn't get a picture of it, but the crows were cawing up a storm and making some spectacular dives above the pine tree.

White Alstroemeria

I like Alstromeria and this white one is from a friend. I dug up some tubers from her garden and planted them in a pot on the balcony. They are growing nicely and this is the first set of blooms.

Red-tailed Hawks Just Hanging Out

Today the crows were trying to drive away a couple of Red-tailed Hawks that were sitting in the Eucalyptus Tree. One of the hawks is wearing a "bracelet"!

Ledebouria Socialis 'meineri'

I was afraid that I almost killed this Ledebouria Socialis 'meineri', but it's making a comeback! This is a very small succulent in a 2" pot. The bloom is 1/8" wide. The 2nd and 3rd pictures were taken with my Canon DSLR and the others with my digital microscope. This plant is also known as 'Silver Squill'.
