 I enjoy visiting Sherman Gardens, especially the cactus and succulent area of the garden.

Sherman Gardens Color!

 I always like the Color and variety of plants at Sherman Gardens.

Striped Japonica Ornamental Corn

 This past weekend we were at Sherman Gardens for a begonia show and sale (more posts on that later) and inside the garden this corn stalk caught my eye!  This is Striped Japonica Ornamental Corn.  The kernels are burgundy color and used for decoration, ground up for corn meal or used for popping.

Southern California Regional Begonia Show & Sale, at Sherman Gardens

 On September 17th and 18th the Southern California Branches of the American Begonia Society presented their 8th annual Begonia Show & Sale at Sherman Gardens in Corona Del Mar.  This wasn't a judged show, so no blue ribbons or best in show, but there were some really great begonias on display.  The show had good attendance and a lot of plants were sold!
