The Hooded Orioles have returned! And later than usual. I typically start hearing or seeing them in April.

Beautiful! Perhaps the rains delayed their return. It has been rainy and cool here (Albuquerque), and I wonder if the lady hummingbirds are keeping their eggs warm enough. I'm sure they're working hard to do so. All I can do is put out sugar water for them. We apparently get the "Scott's Oriole" here in the summer, so when I go on a walk this morning, I'll watch for it and other spring birds. Maybe I'll see some grosbeaks.
